Preparing a meal at a snack shop sounds simple: listen to the order, place the ingredients, cook, and serve. Midnight Bunsik takes its time with what passes between people during those small actions.

Begin with a guest’s order

Check the order slip and use your hands to prepare a dish. A finishing touch or a different level of heat can leave a visible mark on the food and on the response after a meal. Choices live beyond the dialogue box.

An imperfect night still belongs to the story

Some dishes will not turn out as you hoped. The essential guest stories continue anyway. There is no need to restart stories you have already read or bring back guests who have said goodbye just to earn more coins.

Relaxed timing and calm controls offer another way to stay at the table while you become familiar with its little gestures.

The first story, and the time that follows

The first 21 nights contain the shop’s first story and its farewells. A concluding follow-up places you in new situations, asking you to prepare a meal and leave a small action behind. Both stories reach an ending. Service afterward is a choice, for favorite dishes and a table of your own.

A little shop still being prepared

Midnight Bunsik is being prepared as a free iPhone game with banners and optional one-time ad removal in Korean and English. The full story is free; ad removal has a Korean base price of KRW 4,900. The public release date has not been announced. Longer physical-device reviews and observation of human play remain ahead.

Read about the gestures behind seven dishes and a table that remembers.
